Memento Mori [#009]
We all have to die one day.
QUOTE OF THE DAY
“Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life.” — Steve Jobs
MORNING THOUGHT
Memento Mori is a symbolic trope acting as a reminder of our finite time on earth. It’s Latin and translates to “remember that you [have to] die“. Although this might seem like a depressing thought to consider, it’s an important reminder for our daily life.
Time is the online finite, non-renewable resource we humans possess. We do not know how much time we have on planet earth, but what we do know is that a day (desirably in the distant future) will come where we die.
I try to remind myself of “Memento Mori” daily to ensure I spend my time in a way I truly want to. Not having regrets. Doing the things I want to do. Despite judgment of others. We all will be gone one day, so whose opinion really matters after all? Do what you deeply want to do. Not what others seem to tell you.
Unfortunately, most people reach this conclusion about life only in light of immediate death. But that’s too late! You need to start living your life now. Enjoying every moment, and cherishing every day. Memento Mori.
